100th Okuma Cinema Commemorative Event, June 14th (Sunday)

"Okuma CINEMO," a regular film screening and social gathering held at "linkru Okuma," a community center in Okuma Town, Fukushima Prefecture, will celebrate its momentous 100th event on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Film producer Kenji Sekine and director Yo Kohazu will gather for the event. A special event connecting the community through film and food will be held, including a homecoming screening of a film set in Okuma Town and the serving of a "special no-waste lunch" using off-grade vegetables from local farmers.

We're giving a special preview of "Training Room 1," the setting where Norio Kimura and an Israeli student had a dialogue in the film! We'll be welcoming Mr. Kimura himself and director Yo Kohazu for a special talk in that very room, where they'll reflect on that time.

100th Anniversary "Mottainai Kitchen" Encore Screening & Celebration Talk
We will be screening a hit movie that deliciously solves Japan's food waste problem. Producer Kenji Sekine and farmers who appeared in the film will be invited as guests for a positive and cheerful talk and commemorative photo session on the theme of "The Future of Hamadori."
Special speakers: Kenji Sekine, Nagatoshi Shiraishi (Shiraishi Farm), and Mr. Iwaki
